Set Up Store Credit for Returns

Help me configure store credit as a return refund option for my Shopify store [STORE NAME]. I want to retain revenue by encouraging customers to accept store credit instead of cash refunds.


  Create Shopify gift cards automatically when a return is processed with store credit selected.
  Set the gift card value equal to the refund amount, including or excluding shipping based on [POLICY].
  Offer a bonus incentive of [BONUS PERCENTAGE]% extra store credit to customers who choose credit over refund.
  Send the gift card code to the customer via email with a branded template.
  Set an expiration date of [MONTHS] months on return-related store credits, or no expiration if required by [STATE/REGION] law.

  Allow store credit to be used on any product, or restrict to [ELIGIBLE CATEGORIES] only.

  Set up Shopify Flow to auto-generate the gift card when a return is tagged with “store-credit-selected”.
  Handle partial store credit usage – ensure remaining balances carry forward.
  Prevent store credit codes from being shared or resold by tying them to the customer account.
  Display the customer’s store credit balance on their account page.
  Send reminder emails when a customer has unused store credit, [DAYS] days before expiration.
