Inventory Reconciliation Report

Help me reconcile my inventory:

What I need:

  A report showing expected inventory vs what Shopify shows for all products (or specific collection: [collection name])


Expected inventory calculation:

  Starting inventory (beginning of [month/quarter])
  Plus: received/added inventory
  Minus: sold units
  Minus: returns added back
  Equals: Expected current inventory


Compare with:

  Current Shopify inventory levels


Flag discrepancies:

  Products where Shopify shows MORE than expected (possible duplicate additions)
  Products where Shopify shows LESS than expected (possible shrinkage, theft, damage)
  Products with exact match (confirmed accurate)


Analysis:

  Total discrepancy value (cost and retail)
  Discrepancy rate (% of products with mismatches)
  Patterns (specific collections, locations, or time periods with more issues)
  Most common discrepancy amounts


Action plan:

  Products to physically count first (largest discrepancies)
  Suggested process improvements to prevent future discrepancies
  How to adjust inventory after physical count
