Heatmap-Ready UX Audit Checklist

I want a UX audit framework I can apply to my Shopify store’s key pages. Note: Sidekick cannot install or configure a heatmap/session-recording tool (Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, Lucky Orange) or read data from one — this is a generic diagnostic checklist for me (or whoever installs one of those tools) to apply manually.

Store type: [e.g., DTC apparel, subscription boxes]
Key pages to audit: [KEY_PAGES, e.g., homepage, product pages, collection pages, cart]
Known UX concerns: [KNOWN_ISSUES, e.g., low mobile conversion, high cart abandonment]

Please provide a UX audit checklist covering:


  Homepage: what to check for above-the-fold CTA visibility, navigation clarity, and scroll-depth expectations.
  Product page: what to check for image gallery usability, add-to-cart button visibility, review-section placement, and variant selector clarity.
  Collection page: what to check for filter/sort usability and product-card layout (grid vs. list, position bias).
  Cart/checkout: what to check for form friction points, trust-signal placement, and upsell visibility.
  For each area, a severity framework (critical/moderate/minor) I can use to rate whatever friction points I actually observe once I have real heatmap or session-recording data.
  A report template (finding, severity, recommended change, priority) to document what I find.


Keep this to a generic, page-by-page checklist and severity framework — do not include tool installation/configuration steps or claim any live heatmap/session data, since Sidekick has no access to either.
