Bundle Inventory Tracking Setup

Create metafield entries on each bundle product mapping it to its component SKUs and quantity-per-bundle, as a manual reference for checking bundle availability.

📋 Prompt
Run in Sidekick
Create bundle-component metafields for my Shopify bundles so I have a reliable reference for what each bundle contains and how much stock that requires. I sell the following bundles:
[BUNDLE_LIST_WITH_COMPONENTS]

Bundle-to-component mapping to record:

  Bundle: [BUNDLE_NAME_1] contains [COMPONENT_1A] x[QTY], [COMPONENT_1B] x[QTY], etc.
  Bundle: [BUNDLE_NAME_2] contains [COMPONENT_2A] x[QTY], [COMPONENT_2B] x[QTY], etc.

Before making changes:

Find each bundle product and confirm the component products/SKUs exist in the catalog — flag any component you can’t match.
Show me the metafield definition you’ll create (e.g. a bundle.components list metafield storing component product ID/SKU + quantity-per-bundle-unit for each entry) and preview the values for each bundle product.
Ask for my confirmation before writing anything.

After I confirm, create the metafields:

Add the bundle.components metafield entry to each bundle product listing its components and qty needed per bundle.
Confirm which bundle products were updated and show the final saved values.
Note: this metafield is a manual reference for me to check against current component stock — it does not auto-calculate live bundle availability or auto-deduct component inventory on sale. If I want alerts when a component is running low, that needs a separate step (e.g. a Shopify Flow low-stock trigger on the component product).

Also flag any components that are shared across more than one bundle, so I know to check them against multiple bundles’ demand when I do inventory counts.
