Back-in-Stock Notification Flow (Manual Waitlist)

Build a back-in-stock notification Flow for my Shopify store.

Step 1 — build the interested-customer segment:

  Create (or use existing) customer segment/tag “[SEGMENT_OR_TAG_NAME]” for customers interested in [PRODUCT_NAME]. I’ll maintain who’s in this segment manually (e.g. by tagging customers who ask about the product), since Sidekick can’t capture waitlist signups from the storefront itself.


Step 2 — build the Flow:

  Trigger: inventory quantity for [PRODUCT_NAME] (variant: [VARIANT]) changes from 0 to greater than 0.
  Action: send a notification/email via Shopify Messaging to customers in segment “[SEGMENT_OR_TAG_NAME]”, including the product name, image, price, and a link to the product page.
  Message copy: “[Product Name] is back in stock — shop now before it sells out again.” Subject line: “[Product Name] is back in stock!”


Before activating:

  Show me the full Flow preview (trigger, segment, message content).
  Confirm the segment “[SEGMENT_OR_TAG_NAME]” exists and show how many customers are currently in it.
  Ask for my confirmation before turning the Flow on.


After I confirm, build and activate:

  Create the Flow and the customer segment (if not already existing) as described.
  Confirm the Flow is live and tell me exactly what happens the next time [PRODUCT_NAME] restocks.


Note: this replaces a custom “Notify Me” storefront button and waitlist database with a manually maintained customer segment/tag plus a Flow-triggered notification — Sidekick can’t build custom Liquid or a live signup form on the product page.
